San Antonio, Texas
As a natural light photographer, some of my favorite wedding venues in San Antonio are outdoor wedding venues. I love the sunshine pouring in behind a couple as they say their vows in front of their closest friends and family. If you are recently engaged and looking for an outdoor wedding ceremony location in San Antonio, TX, here are some of my personal favorites!

1. The Southwest School of Art
We’ve been photographing wedding in San Antonio for 10 years. For the past decade, Southwest School of Art has been one of my favorite wedding venues. The Southwest School is a true gem. So close to downtown that you can arrive by river barge on the banks of the San Antonio Riverwalk, but tucked away, giving you the feeling of a being in a secret garden. If there is rain on your wedding day, the beautiful Coates Chapel makes a great Plan B for your ceremony. The large outdoor space has plenty of room for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and numerous gorgeous spots for wedding day portraits. It is the perfect mix of downtown and outdoors with a splash of pure San Antonio charm.
2. The Hotel Emma
The gem of the Pearl District is certainly Hotel Emma, originally built in 1894 as Pearl’s Brewhouse. Every decor detail around the hotel is perfection. The staff at Emma are beyond amazing. They think of everything. I always know it is going to be a great day when I am going to a Hotel Emma wedding. Their courtyard is a gorgeous outdoor space for wedding ceremonies, private, but spacious and full of interesting details. You cannot go wrong with Hotel Emma.
3. Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa
If you want a destination wedding just minutes from the city, Hyatt Hill Country is the perfect spot. Your out of town guests will feel like they are on vacation and you have your choice of several GORGEOUS locations for your outdoor ceremony. The resort is HUGE and perfectly landscaped. You will have the feel of a destination wedding right at home. We have some great friends (and past brides) who work with wedding couples at the Hyatt Hill Country. I know that they will take great care to make your day spectacular!
4. The Kendall Plantation
Kendall Plantation was built just for weddings. From the spacious and light filled getting ready rooms to the well kept grounds, not a detail was forgotten. There is a grand staircase, sparkling chandeliers, large wraparound porches, and gorgeous greenery. If your guest list is large, Kendall may be the perfect location for your big day. Their grand ballroom has room for 400 guests inside. This venue is overflowing with Southern elegance and hospitality.
5. The Sisterdale Dance Hall
If you are looking for pure Texas charm with an intimate atmosphere, check out Sisterdale Dance Hall. The ladies can prepare in the sweet bed and breakfast style home on the property (one of my favorite getting ready spaces of all time!). The ceremony space is surrounded by beautiful oak trees with gorgeous glowing light pouring through the branches. Then get your party on in the dance hall with your friends and family.
