Being a family photographer in San Antonio during Covid has been a unique experience. With everything shifting so quickly, editing the Phelt family’s outdoor photo session felt like a sweet escape. I actually photographed their session right before the world turned upside down. Looking back, it feels even more special now.

I’ve honestly lost track of how many times I’ve had the joy of capturing family photos for Carolyn, Brian, and Isabella. Every single year, I look forward to their family photo session. And every single year, I end up with a new favorite image (or ten). Brian’s been friends with Kaylinn for over 20 years, and over time, Carolyn and Isabella have become dear friends of mine, too.

Candid, Real, and Full of Heart

This session was everything I love about being a San Antonio family photographer. It was full of sweet moments and that beautiful golden-hour glow we all chase in natural light photography. These three bring such a fun, relaxed energy, and it makes for the most amazing candid family portraits.
