...because choosing the outfits is the hardest part!
Do This:
01
Choose pieces that match your brand aesthetic.
This is more than wearing a shirt with your brand colors. Is your brand modern, fun, free-spirited, casual, sophisticated? Think about what can you communicate to potential clients through fashion. Consider what emotions you want to express through your brand images.
02
Wear clothes that fit well.
We all have those areas we want to hide, but adding lots of fabric won’t do the trick. Choose pieces that fit you well and complement your shape without being too loose or too tight. Always try on your outfits in advance. If you find your self tugging or readjusting a lot, move on. The goal of a branding session is to show the real you. If you are uncomfortable in your clothing, it will show in the images.
03
Accessorize.
Adding a scarf or necklace is a great way to bring in a pop of color and interest. Keep it simple with one statement piece per outfit. Other great accessory ideas: hats, fun shoes, sunglasses, jackets and purses/bags.
04
Plan for multiple outfits.
Variety is key. We are doing the shoot on one day, but that goal to create lots of posts for your social media. Adding a layer to a simple shirt or changing accessories is a great way to add variety quickly. At the beginning of the session, we will go over your wardrobe together and decide what outfits will work best in each setting.
05
Incorporate your brand colors.
Color is a huge part of a brand’s story. This doesn’t mean you can’t wear anything else, but if you keep your brand colors in mind, the images will visually fit in on your website and help give your social media a cohesive feel. If your brand color is bright pink, but your wardrobe is full of neutrals, add color with accessories.
